Intimate Backyard Wedding Ideas: Grimsby Lakeside Wedding

Yolanda and Dave (aka the sweetest couple ever) knew they wanted to have an intimate wedding from the get-go. Well, weren’t they surprised when Covid-19 didn’t give them the option to even consider something larger anyways. The family had this idea of planning an intimate gathering on their property on the lake in Grimsby, Ontario, but needed some help with pulling it all together. Aside from the pandemic, another layer of complication was that the bride and groom would be coming in from out of province only a few days prior to the wedding and wanted someone on the ground pulling the plans together— That’s where I came in!

The second I spoke with the family and saw the beautiful property, I knew this was a wedding I couldn’t pass up. Yolanda had a beautiful vision for her day and her one request was that she just wanted to have a relaxed, laid back celebration with her closest family and friends. I had the most fun bringing this vision to life by incorporating elegant floral design from the talented Kendon Design Co. and beautiful blue hues to compliment the lake views. When the sun went down, the guests danced (socially distanced of course!) under the stars to their carefully selected Spotify playlist— It was a dream to say the least!

The love in the air from morning to evening brought me to tears more than once and solidified my passion for intimate events yet again.
